What about when fear comes?

There is a meeting on Monday that I need to be ready for. I have created a story in my mind that tells me that I need to do it right. To do it right so as not to be separated, to not stay behind.

While in the couch, I subconsciously imagined myself failing during the Monday meeting.

My mind already knows that I need to move towards fear. However, until now I quite did not know what that movement, the action, was.

In the face of fear, I overprepare.

I first listened how the imposter syndrome hinder us – I felt it, and it is true. Later I listened that some people that go through the imposter syndrome rehearse much more for the performance. It is a fear driven rehearsal, nevertheless, in some cases, it gives you the desired outcome: a good or excellent performance.

Maybe imposter syndrome is a double edge sword. Most commonly know for its self-defeating side, yet we have the power to turn around the story. To use imposter syndrome to rehearse and to perform. And once the performance is over then to demonstrate, to ourselves, that we belong.
