I have a B. Sc. in Engineering Physics. To me, it was fascinating to have a good Physics foundation but to get to explore topics such as Control Theory, Material Science, Solar Engineering, Nanotechnology, and Thermal Transport.
The Quantum related to my undergraduate was in nanostructures electrical transport in the laboratory of Prof. Yong P. Chen at Purdue University. There I worked with a superconductor known as BiSrCuO (Bi-2212). The twist was that we thinned Bi-2212 to a few nanometer thicknesses using scotch tape, also known as mechanical cleaving.
