thinkUNI
thinkUNI has been an on-site and virtual conference with editions in 2012, 2013, and 2021. The invited speakers are Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (UNI) alumni that are currently or have finished graduate studies overseas. In the speaker's presentations, some of their current academic work is presented and their path and journey to access to the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. are presented. In 2021 thinkUNI was held virtually and the videos have been upload to our facebook page (click here).
thinkUNI is a spinoff from REPU and UNI alumni that was first held in 2012. I have been an organizer in the three versions of the event. In 2013 and 2021 I was the head organizer and fulfilled these roles:
- Identified volunteers and their strengths to designate roles
- Onboarded Peruvian Ph.D.s, across 4 different continents, to participate as speakers
- Worked with stakeholders to spread social media content to increase attendance
