I wrote these sentences in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also during my transition from my 5th to 6th year of Ph.D.
• On dividing the workweek. My reflections after I listened to Peter Fiske's presentation in the virtual 2020 March Meeting.
• Dividing the work day. A post with some arithmetic that tries to quantify how many hours of deep work you could get in a day.
• What if I wake up in the middle of the night? I outlined my steps to fall back asleep if I get my evening's cycle disrupted.
• Choosing a laboratory. A decision that is a cornerstone of a Ph.D. in STEM.
• Do fewer things. A premise that I read first in Cal Newport's posts.
• It is OK to ask for help. I recount the story of a Nobel Prize winner asking for help.
• How does it feels to be the best in the world at something? My impression of having interacted with Loren Pfeiffer.
• Why was it challenging to start a PhD coming from Peru? I reflect on a few factors that create low moods during a Ph.D. outside of my home country.
• Toxic apprenticeship. A connection between the Ph.D. horror stories and some real facts.
• Dear great Peruvian. When I accumulated a few accomplishments I realized how truly great Peruvians are!
• Learn from the experts. A continuation of ``choosing a laboratory".
